Responsible Tourism Awards Prize Competition
  1. No purchase necessary. Competition open to UK or ROI residents aged 18 or over except employees of the Telegraph Media Group, Circle Publishing, responsibletravel.com Ltd, Real World Adventures, Virgin Holidays, Intrepid Travel or associated companies and businesses.
  2. To enter, simply nominate an organisation, project or individual which benefits a local community and is environmentally-friendly for the Responsible Tourism Awards in any of the 13 categories. Include a brief description (no more than 300 words) explaining why you are nominating the organisation, along with its contact details.
  3. You may nominate organisations in one, some or all of the Award categories, but each organisation may only be nominated in one category. You may not nominate an organisation in which you have a financial or family interest.
  4. Nominations can be made via the website www.responsibletourismawards.com or by letter or postcard, including your name, address and telephone number, to: responsibletravel.com, Pavilion House, 6 Old Steine, Brighton, East Sussex BN1 1EJ. Nominations must be received by June 16, 2008.
  5. The Telegraph Media Group, Circle Publishing and responsibletravel.com Ltd reserve the right to publish nominations (including parts of entries) other than the winning nominations and publication does not necessarily mean the nominated organisation or nominator has won a prize.
  6. Nominators will retain copyright in their submitted entries, however, by entering, all nominators licence the Telegraph Media Group Circle Publishing and responsibletravel.com Ltd a worldwide royalty-free perpetual licence to edit, publish and use each entry in any and all media (including print and online) for publicity and news purposes.
  7. The winners of the Responsible Tourism Awards will be chosen by a judging panel chaired by Harold Goodwin (Professor of Responsible Tourism Management at Leeds Metropolitan University and Director of the International Centre for Responsible Tourism) and to include Justin Francis (CEO, responsibletravel.com Ltd); Graham Boynton (Group Travel Editor, the Telegraph Media Group) Sue Hurdle (CEO, The Travel Foundation); Fiona Jeffery (Chair, World Travel Market), Andrew Cooper (Director General, the Federation of Tour Operators), Ian Reynolds (former Chief Executive of the Association of British Travel Agents), Tricia Barnett (Director, Tourism Concern), Debbie Hindle (Managing Director and Founder, bgb communications), Keith Richards (Barrister and ABTA's Head of Business Development and Consumer Affairs), and Graeme Gourlay (publisher of Geographical magazine). Their decision as to the winner of each category and the overall winner of the Responsible Tourism Awards will be final.
  8. Each person who nominated an organisation that won an Award will be entered into a prize draw, which will take place no later than 15 November 2008. The first name drawn at random will win: 15 days for two people on a Real World Adventure tour of India. This includes return economy flights with Virgin Atlantic to Delhi; transport and accommodation in India. The trip must be taken by 1 November 2009 and excludes travel during peak seasons (Easter, 10 December 2008 - 10 January 2009). The offer is subject to availability and unforeseen eventualities.   9. All costs over and above the basic advertised holiday must be settled by the prize-winner. Prizes are not transferable and there are no cash alternatives. The precise itinerary of each holiday prize is variable at the absolute discretion of the tour operator. Entrants must have valid passports and will be responsible for any necessary visa applications.
  10. The names of the prize winner will be published in the Travel pages of The Telegraph on 15 November 2008, or the earliest possible date after that. The winner must agree to their name and their nomination/entry form being used for publicity/advertising purposes by The Telegraph, the organisation they have nominated, Real World Adventures, Virgin Holidays, Intrepid Travel, responsibletravel.com Ltd, Circle Publishing and any other organisations involved in the promotion or administration of the Responsible Tourism Awards.
  11. The promoters of the competition, Real World Adventures (Virgin Holidays & Intrepid Travel), reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal value in the event that circumstances beyond their control make the original prize unavailable or impossible.
  12. Neither the Telegraph Media Group nor responsibletravel.com nor Circle Publishing will be liable for any failure of receipt of nominations, or for any nominations that are lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged, incomplete or otherwise invalid. Nominations will not be acknowledged or returned.
  13. Any breach of these rules by a nominator will void their nominations. Misrepresentative or fraudulent nominations will invalidate that nomination. The Editor's and judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  14. The Telegraph Media Group and responsibletravel.com reserve the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the competition (including altering prizes) if, in our sole discretion, a competition is not capable of being conducted as specified.
  15. Other than death or personal injury arising from the acts or omissions of their or its employees, none of the Telegraph Media Group, responsibletravel.com, Virgin Holidays, Intrepid Travel or Circle Publishing will be liable for any loss or damage arising out of the winner's (or their guest's) enjoyment of the prize.
  16. Competition rules published in The Telegraph, www.telegraph.co.uk/travel and on www.responsibletourismawards.com (see General Terms and Conditions applying to Prizes Redemption) form part of these rules.
